Lush The Comforter Bubble Bar

Hi guys,

So if you know me, you know I love a Lush bath. I picked up this bubble bar (my first) a couple of weeks ago and I adore it.

First, the colours are amazing and the smell is unreal.

It is called The Comforter and that is how I would describe the smell - very comforting. Plus, your bath goes pink. Nuff said, right?

Anyhoo, the bubble bar differs from the bath bombs as you can use it quite a few times. I have got about 3 uses out of it so far and reckon another 2/3 to go. It is gorgeous.

Definitely a thumbs up from me and a recommendation!

Can you recommend any for me for future buys??

Lush Bath Bomb: Star Dust

Hi guys,

I have got a lovely little product review for you today! This Star dust bath bomb smells divine. It has a deep vanilla scent which is just amazing.

£2.95 ... LINK here.

This is the most beautifully coloured bath I have ever had. The star dust bomb has a lot of little blue pieces which creates this stunning look!

This one features vanilla, rosewood and bergamot so you can just imagine this amazing smell. The product description states that it is ideal for rejuvenating after a Christmas night out. I have been completely tired lately and this was absolutely the perfect pick-me-up.

Definitely a recommend!!

Avon Magic Effects Mineral Crush in Turquoise

Hi guys,

I have just tried the Avon Magic Effects Mineral Crush polishes. I bought them in several colours but I have just tried out the Turquoise and I absolutely loved it. The magic effects is a kind of glitter effect in the polish which looks amazing on the nail.

Avon nail polishes & most of the makeup comes in a little cardboard box which makes it so good to be able to give as gifts too. The actual nail brush for the polish is great too for all of the nail varnishes I have used from Avon before.

The colour is so cute. It is a teal/turquoise colour and is really deep and pigmented. The sparkle looks amazing too. It is quite quick drying and I managed to wear it for two days without any chipping. I am not allowed to wear nail varnish for work so I didn't have the opportunity to try it for longer than this!

This colour is so perfect for the Christmas season!

Lush Bubble Bar: Candy Mountain ...

Hi guys,

I think this is one of my favourite bubble bars so far! This lush candy mountain bubble bar smells absolutely divine! It has the most amazing smell and colour!

Bubble bar only £2.95 (LINK here)

I think out of all of them that I have tried lately, this has been my favourite. I can't even describe the smell but it was so sweet! I just didn't want to get out of the bath. Gorgeous!!

No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour .. Beanie

Hi guys,

I love No7 nail colour. I hardly see beauty bloggers raving about it and I have always wondered why.

This is the stay perfect nail colour in shade no.8, Beanie.

It is this unusual dark brown colour, almost khaki,

So, I had to apply two coats to it to get this deeper colour. I also love the fact that it has this natural shine to it. It was very quick to dry and it hadn't chipped AT ALL over three days.

I will definitely look to No7 for more nail polishes. This was only £6 and you can get buy one get one half price at the minute too - bargain!!

My Autumn/Winter Playlist ...

Hi guys,

I love Autumn/Winter as it means I get to spend a lot more time indoors, without an excuse. I think that is the granny in me talking!

So, whether it is organising my wardrobe, papers, working from home or just doing general chores, I always like to have music playing away. I love a ballad - I feel like if you can sing along while doing organising tasks or writing my blog, you get it done quicker and it is more enjoyable.

When tidying the house and carrying out more energetic tasks, it helps to have a faster paced tune playing.

I also find that my music choices are the weirdest compilation. My perfect album would probably be made up of 20 different albums!

This is what I have been listening to lately and playing most often on the Ipod ...

Sia - Elastic Heart
Sia - Alive
Sia - Chandelier
Birdy - Skinny Love
Jazmine Sullivan - Bust Your Windows
Gabrielle - Out of Reach
Leona Lewis - Run
Christina Perri - Jar of Hearts
David Guetta feat John Legend - Listen
Ellie Goulding - Explosions
La Roux - Bulletproof
David Guetta feat. Birdy - I'll keep loving you
Timbaland feat Katy Perry - If we ever meet again
Jennifer Hudson - If this isn't love

What do you like listening to?

Lush Review: Honey Bee Bath Bomb

Hi guys,

So I had a Lush bath the other day (get it?!) Only me? Okay, so I had a bath with the Honey Bee Bath bomb. Apologies for the faded name tag, I got this for my birthday from a friend and just discovered it in a box that I hadn't got round to unpacking yet!

My bath was absolutely gorgeous! Not only did it look this sunshine yellow colour, it also smelled absolutely divine!!

I don't like honey as a flavour but I love it as a scent. I am obsessed with Marc Jacobs Dot and have repurchased LOTS. The bath smelled beautiful and it softened the skin completely.

A definite recommend, you can find it HERE.

Poundland Bargain Beauty Haul ...

Hi guys,

Thought I would share with you some bargain picks from Poundland.

I often go in the pound shops for homey stuff or stationary (addict) but this time I had a good look in the beauty section.

So, I picked up three packs of wipes. A nivea 3-in-1 cleansing wipes which I have used previously and I decided to try these St Ives wipes too. I remember the St Ives brand from years ago when I would use their apricot face scrub, I remember my auntie used to use it so I went mad for some. The wipes are not soaking wet and feel very moisturising when you use them on your face.

I got the two Body butters in a tub. The packaging on these are so cute and if you were going to do a little beauty hamper then I would definitely pick them up. They are strawberries and cream and cookies and cream. The strawberry fragrance isn't that strong but the cookies smells absolutely amazing. They do look like little ice cream tubs, it made me laugh when the cookies and cream says "do not eat" on the front because they smell good enough to eat. They are very moisturising and have almost a sorbet texture.

I got this cute little owl manicure set just to pop in my bag along with a pack of nail files. Both are perfect for little stocking fillers or just to pop into your makeup bag as spares. I also got this little beauty blender (far right). It comes in this expensive looking packaging and works okay. It isn't super absorbent but for a teenager, would probably work for a starter kit.

I picked up a vaseline tub, just cause. I also got this Johnson's face wash.I don't use a lot of Johnson's products but I have been using this in the shower and although it smells like the baby products, it does a lovely cleansing job and is quite moisturising!

Other picks that I haven't reviewed yet include: 3pk argan hair oils, Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo, Keratin smooth conditioner & Garnier Oil Control Complex.

I also picked up quite a few bits and pieces from their Make Up Gallery range of which I will review in a separate post!

Have you got any beauty bargains lately?

No 7 Lash Impact Mascara

Hi guys,

I have been using this mascara for quite some time and felt that it was time to review.

Firstly, its No7 so it isn't the cheapest brand available. It is priced at £13.50 Boots but you can often get the money off vouchers for No7 or at the moment the brand is on offer buy one get one for half price.

The packaging feels cheap for the brand but the design is so cute. I actually got this last Christmas and it is just now drying up so it will probably be featured in my All used up for October too!

The mascara is great for length but not so much for volume. It says it is for intense volume control but I found I still had to use another volumised mascara if I was going on a night out.

This was perfect for every day use, not so much a night out.

LINK here.

I don't think I will repurchase this product but if you have thicker lashes, this may be okay for you!!

Ciate in Glossip ...

Hi guys,

I have just got this Ciate nail polish FREE with a mag! I adore the bottles with their little bows but this colour is cute too! In fact, when I wore this polish, I had just got back from holiday so had a lovely tan going on - this meant the colour looked even better.

This colour is so cute, it is like a peachy coral. It's not my usual colour so I don't know whether I would repurchase but I am enjoying wearing it at the moment. It may be a bit too light when my tan fades. Also, it isn't very pigmented. I had to do three full applications for it to get the thick glossy effect.

Neal's Yard ... Geranium & Orange Hand Cream

Hi guys,

I got this little sample of hand cream from a mag recently and decided to give it a go. With having colder temps, going on holiday and then coming back to this horrible cold weather, my hands have been so dry. I have had flaky skin and really dry patches on the top halves of my fingers.

First of all, the scent is amazing! It is not overpowering but you still smell it a little while later. However, when worked in, it is so moisturising. I use it on a morning and on a night when I get in and my hands are a lot smoother and less flaky!!

I may repurchase the full size!

Real Techniques Brushes

Hi guys,

I have just purchased my first Real Techniques brushes. I just haven't ever got round to purchasing them but I am very happy with these. I finally took the plunge (before my spending embargo) and I actually love them. I have used them a few times so haven't really got the feel for them yet to do a proper review but here is what I love so far.

I love the packaging they come in. I love the fact that the holder can stand up for ease when doing my makeup - this will especially be useful when on holiday - I may even take the pouch but with my travel brushes.

The other bonus is that they can hang upside down as well, meaning that they can dry when I have just washed them! Love it.

Okay, so the actual brushes themselves are a really good size. I know it sounds very stupid but I prefer a thicker brush to hold.

They are so soft and I like this as it makes me realise how old my current ones are!! The pack itself also comes with instructions of how to use each brush and there are plenty more tips online too.

I am expecting really big things from these brushes so if you have been toying with the idea of making the purchase, then I would!

Nivea Oil Free Moisturising day cream ...

Hi guys,

So I have been using this nivea oil free moisturising day cream as part of my normal daily routine at the minute. This is for oily and combination skin.

I love Nivea products as they smell great but they are so affordable too at only about £2.00

This Nivea day cream is a lovely light cream that leaves your face feeling instantly moisturised.. As part of my routine, I apply this and then do my hair allowing it time to soak into my skin.

It doesn't have an SPF so I probably won't use it for much longer as it means applying this and a sun cream  - Sun protection for your face is so important - especially when the weather is so sunny.

I do think this day cream works for me better than other products due to the oil free. It means I don't get the usual 12pm glare that other moisturisers can produce.

It is a good little product, that I will definitely switch back to using in the colder months.

You can pick up a little tube here.

Travel brushes: Eco Tools

Hi guys,

So I wanted to share my travel brushes. They are a miniature size with wooden handles and a gorgeous print too. I picked them up for about £10 in Asda which is a bargain for this many brushes.

I didn't take them to Dublin but I will be taking them on any future short breaks - they are perfect size for a weekend.

I have used them a couple of times.

There is a foundation brush, blender brush for powders and blush, an eyeshadow, eyeliner and lip brush. Perfect combination. Boots also have this set but with a different design.

I was a bit concerned at first over the size of the brushes as I don't like to hang around with my makeup. I like it done and dusted, but they do the job. The bristles are lovely and soft and the blender brush picks up the powder on it really well. too. I don't know whether I will use the lip brush very much but I will find a use for it!

Bomb Hair Brush ...

Hi guys,

I don't know if you have seen these mace shaped hairbrushes recently but I just purchased one and tried it and it was amazing.

It is great for blow drying and the volume you get out of it is amazing. I'm not going to lie - I did get it stuck a few times but I think that is just because I struggle with drying my hair anyway!!

I don't know who came up with the concept of this but it is honestly the funniest thing. I also love that it has a pink handle.

I know Avon sell these also and I was toying with it - but I do have a link that you can purchase from me via my facebook selling page here.

I can't wait to try this for curling my hair!!

Loreal Studio Pro Hairspray

Hi guys,

I have just finished using this product and I have been deciding whether to repurchase or not. This is the Loreal Studio Pro Lock It Hairspray in extra strong. Firstly, as previously mentioned, I am a stickler for black and dark clothing so I like to brighten up my life in other ways and this packaging is gorgeous. I picked this up on impulse. I have heard a lot of things about the studio pro range.
I bought this from Boots as they had a special offer on at the time. Okay, so the product itself smells amazing. It is so fruity and amazing, you probably shouldn't wear perfume with it. You can still smell hours later, unlike some perfumes. The actual consistency of the product is very sticky. I don't know whether this is because its extra strong or if its a trait of the actual product. It does hold the style really well also, I just don't like that you can visually see the hairspray in the hair. It gives you a thin layer - again due to the sticky.

I weighed all of these points up and I have decided not to repurchase - I have used other products previously which have been better for me - I may try again in the future but with a lighter hold.

Champneys nail polish ... Secret Taupe Sparkle

Hi guys,

I have just tried this nail polish and adore it!! I got it in a christmas set from Champneys and the colour is gorgeous. The best thing about it is that it also has a hint of sparkle so it adds a touch of glamour.

I had to apply two coats of this, although it did go on easily and wasn't sticky. The finish is almost gel like with the sparkle adding definition.

My only issue is that I have chipped it several times so far. It isn't as longwearing as I would like!!

I love this nail polish and as I'm not allowed to wear it for work will be good as an occasional use polish.

Avon Glimmersticks Brow Definer

Hi guys,

I have been using this religiously for two weeks now! I use it in line with the stencil from Avon as well. It is a retractable pencil which is fab for me as I always lose lids. I use the dark brown colour and it matches my hair really well. If you have lighter hair, it may not work for you as it is dark. You may need to try the blonde version.

Glimmersticks Eye Brow Definer available here.

It stays on for a very long time - I have very oily skin but I find I don't need to touch it in at all. I love this so much I have just ordered another two. Also, if you are looking for some inspiration, Avon have fabulous little how to videos on certain product pages!

I will upload my brow routine at some point - what do you use on yours?

Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay ...

Hi guys,

I bought Loreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay the minute I saw the ads in my weekly mags. Finally, a product that was going to help me with my oily roots!

I used this product religiously for about 2 weeks until it was all gone and I was somewhere in the middle at the end of my bottles.

I would say that I got an extra day out of my roots - they didn't oil as much as they usually do and therefore I saved a bit of dry shampoo. But, my big issue with this product is that my ends of my hair were completely dry. In fact, they were consistently straw like. This meant that styling my hair became an issue and later on in the day, it was unruly and I honestly looked like a scarecrow.

Needless to say, this product will not be a repeat purchase and I am quite disappointed!!

What do you use to help your oily roots?

Soap & Glory Bubble Bath Review ...

I have used all of this product up now so decided it was time for a little review. I use soap and glory quite often but it wasn't until I picked this up after running low on bubble bath, that I actually tried this particular Soap and Glory product.

Soap and Glory Calm One Calm All has a beautiful smell that lingers in the bath long after the bubbles have faded (which was quite quickly). I do soak in the bath for a couple of hours and I find it very luxurious. This gave the bath a lovely feel and smelled amazing, I was just disappointed with the lack of bubbles - they didn't seem to last at all.

I love soap and glory as it just adds a bit of luxury to your normal daily routine - worth a try if you like the scent.

Chill out time ...

Lately, I have been so busy and stressed out at work. I have been doing a lot of work outside of hours which is not ideal. However, in the last week I decided that enough was enough. You can't function properly in work if you haven't spent enough time on yourself when you are off.

My job means I am responsible for quite a few stores and therefore even outside of work, I sometimes answer my phone. I now switch off my phone outside of work and make sure that someone is available to deal with emergencies, should they arise.

Not only have I found that I am a lot happier at home, I am also a lot happier at work. I do my work inside of work hours and occasionally, I will do a few things outside of work but these tend to be things on the pc as I don't take my laptop to work with me. I think doing this has strengthened my time management skills.

The only thing now is finding what I enjoy doing outside of work!! I like to do online courses so I often purchase these and spend a little bit of time on a night studying. But, my all time favourite thing to do is to read - I love getting lost in a good book. We have had some lovely weather lately so I have spent a lot of time outdoors, but on this particular day I decided to read a book in my garden room with a cup of tea & a smelly candle on! What do you do to relax?

Initial mug - 99p from Homebargains, Vase & Flowers - Dunelm Mill & Love candle in a set from Next!

What is in my bag?

Hi guys,

Thought I would share what is in my bag at the moment ...
This is my general day to day work bag. I am using my Medium Brown Bag that I bought from Bloomingdales in New York last year. I love this bag as it is so big and I can literally see everything inside it. J love that I can fit everything inside too.

1. Sunglasses - just a random pair from Primark - a big sized pair that I leave in my bag as I drive a lot for work and sometimes the sun can be a bit blinding. I keep them in a case so they don't get damaged.

2. Reading glasses. I carry my glasses with me as my job involves a lot of reading of figures and writing a lot of notes. I also use them for driving in the dark as they have an anti glare coating on.

3. My makeup bag ( I will analyse in a different post) has a lot of stuff in it. But I obviously need it for during the day -my oily skin needs a touch up mid afternoon. I also occassionaly meet friends after work and therefore a quick touch up in the car is often required!!

4. My ipod cable (ipod was in the dock). I always carry this as it connects into my car to charge but also to play my different playlists. As I can be in the car from an hour to a few hours per day, I like to be entertained!

5. Pencil case. my red tartan bow pencil case that my hubby bought me from wilkos. I have to have a pencil case for work but I also carry it around to make any notes for writing or blogging.

6. Floral notebook - i carry around notebooks all the time and I have a large collection of them.

7. 2016 diary - I love my chihuahua diary. I pop daily items in there also make notes for blogs etc or writing so I can set some times to write and make sure I can follow them.

8. Slimming world book - I carry my slimming world books with me so I can check on syns while I am out and about.

9. My purse - it is a 6.00 purse from Primark. I did have a Michael Kors purse but it was too small for all of my various loyalty cards and vouchers (now I am on a budget). It has a coin pocket and a zip pocket and is perfect for me at the moment.
10. Umberella - for rain?!

11. My car keys. I drive a Dacia Sandero Stepway. An efficient car that is fab for all the driving I do. My keyrings tend to be personal. I have some from london, some from Paris and a pic of my niece and nephew.

12. My phones - not photographed! I have a samsung galaxy s5 as my own phone and an iphone 6s for my work phone. Both vital for my day.

13. Chewing gum - I always keep a pot on me. Between talking to staff, training, eating and interviewing, I need to be able to pop a chewy and have fresh breath all day.

What do you keep in your handbag??
